Cultural Trail gets big financial boost in TIGER Grant
The US Dept of Transportation released the recipients of TIGER funds today. Indiana will recieve $40 million total to be split between two projects. One project getting a big windfall will be the bridge reconstruction of the Madison-Milton bridge. The bridge, an old dilapidated structure, will get a boost of $20 million.
Locally, in Indianapolis, the Cultural Trail will get a boost with it's $20 million share of the funds. This should go a long way in bridging the funding gap (if I read this all correctly) that the Cultural Trail needs to complete it's construction of the rest of the network.
Also of note are many modern streetcar projects in New Orleans, Tucson and Dallas that get a boost to their budgets.
